Low Carbon Accelerator verstärkt Engagement bei Hemcore, wie dem heutigen News-Alert von Low Carbon Accelerator zu entnehmen ist. Low Carbon Accelerator Limited, (the “Company” or “LCA”), the AIM-quoted investment fund specialising in low carbon products and services, announced on 26 March 2008 that it had committed £331,800 to Hemcore Limited (”Hemcore”). This was part of a larger £999,900 debt facility provided by the four largest shareholders in Hemcore which has now been fully drawn down.

At that time, it was also announced that the documentation for a further £400,000 debt factoring facility was also being finalised, of which £132,720 was committed by LCA. This debt factoring facility has now been renegotiated to form part of a larger, additional debt facility of £1.1 million being provided by the same four shareholders in Hemcore. Of this amount, £364,980 is to be provided by LCA which is an additional commitment of £232,260.

The loan facility will enable Hemcore to finance the purchase of new equipment for its processing plant, as well as to help manage the working capital shortfall that had arisen as a result of operating levels being lower than forecast.

In addition to the above loan facilities, the Company continues to hold 30% of the diluted share capital of Hemcore.

Hemcore is the UK’s largest grower and processor of hemp for industrial purposes. Its products are used in the automotive and building industries to provide low-carbon alternatives to glass and synthetic fibres.
