Heute morgen sendet Low Carbon Accelorator in einem Newsalert folgendes Statement zum britischen Hanfverarbeiter Hemcore:

“It has been a challenging year for Hemcore, with the shareholders having to refinance the business twice during the year. These refinancings were in large part required as a result of insufficient headroom being built into the original capital installation budget, and the company failing to secure sufficient raw materials in the 2008 harvest to be able to operate the plant until the 2009 harvest at cash break-even levels. Both these risks, however, are considered to reflect start up challenges that should not be repeated in subsequent years. The company believes that it is now overcoming the teething problems associated with the new plant.

LCA has invested or committed to invest, in aggregate, £1,784,780 in Hemcore, £1,088,000 of which is an equity investment for a stake of 30% and the balance is in the form of a loan, £461,000 of which has been drawn down as at 30 November 2008.”
